Join us for a relaxed summer evening with the wolves. Summer evening photo shoots allow a small group of photographers to interact with the wolves in the 7-acre main enclosure. While the wolves play, eat, and snooze, the photographers will have ample opportunity for some great photo moments. If it is nice weather, we may take the rowboat out on the pond and shoot from there. This is a time of year when the wolves are relatively laid back, so it’s a great time to talk with the staff, hang out with the wolves, and photograph in golden light.
Groups are limited to four people. A MANDATORY safety presentation will take place one hour before the shoot. Please let the staff know if you are attending the presentation. There is no formal photography instruction with this program, although our staff photographer can provide suggestions regarding angles, lenses, and more. Let the staff know ahead of time if you’re looking for a particular shot. Shoots last two hours and will typically be with the yearling wolves.
In the summer the shoots will take place 6:00 – 8:00pm, with the safety presentation at 5pm.
The late September and early October shoots will take place 5:00 – 7:00pm with the safety presentation at 4pm.
Participants must be 18 years of age, and physically comfortable interacting with the animals. Wolves may jump or lean. Sick or injured participants will not be allowed in the enclosure. Participants must wear long pants and closed- toed shoes, no earrings or perfume, to enter the wolf enclosure. No tripods are allowed; the wolves like to chew on them. Space is limited!! Sign up EARLY!!
Photography opportunities are rarely cancelled, but we will cancel due to severe weather. If we do cancel, or if you cannot make the event due to weather, your fees can be applied to a different seminar. Photo shoots are held in light snow and in drizzle, so bring protection for your camera.
Friends or family are welcome to attend the safety presentation and watch from outside the enclosure, but only the person who purchased the session will be allowed inside the enclosure. If they would like to join you in the enclosure, the fee is the same for photographers and non-photographers alike. Anyone watching must be over eighteen or accompanied by an adult. Please do not leave your children unattended while you are in with the wolves.
Understand that participating in a seminar does not imbue anyone with authority to speak on behalf of Wolf Park.
In the event of participant cancellation at least 48 hours in advance, monies for this seminar will not be refunded, but may be applied to a future photography seminar.
